Philharmonic’s first ‘Parties of Note’ features Frank Sinatra, Jr.

Delray Beach – The Florida Philharmonic Orchestra’s first of a series of "Parties of Note" for the season was hosted by Jorgen Moller and family recently. A very elegant dinner featured guest of honor Frank Sinatra Jr. at the Moller’s restaurant, Out of Denmark, in Delray Beach. Twenty-six guests enjoyed an intimate dinner and a brief talk by Sinatra.

Sinatra gave high praise to the Philharmonic musicians saying that they only had 84 minutes to rehearse with new, very difficult music for a 75-minute performance. He said, "When they played the piece by Michele Legrand it brought tears to my eyes. You should be very proud of your Orchestra." He also thanked everyone for "inviting a stranger to this event filled with people who obviously support and love their orchestra."

Sinatra talked on the importance of preserving our orchestras not just for their beautiful music, but for their educational value for the future generations. Studies have shown that children who listen to classical music perform better in their other core courses. Co-host Bob Levinson thanked Moller his very generous support of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra and a wonderful evening.

Sherry Anderson, development manager of the Boca Raton office of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra said, "We could not have asked for a more perfect evening to kick off our fund-raising season. We deeply appreciate Mr. Moller for hosting this dinner for us. He makes his guests feel so special and dinner was magnificent. I also want to thank Mr. Sinatra for taking time out of his busy schedule to attend this event and share his thoughts with us. It reaffirmed my pride in being part of such a wonderful and vital organization and the community that supports it."

The Boca Raton branch of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra still has many wonderful "Parties of Note" coming up. Fore more information, call (561) 392-7230.

*Special Note:
"There is one thing that is not mentioned in the story which is that we charged $200.00 per person per plate, and then turned right around and gave them 100% charged back at the end of the evening. It was a good feeling to get $200.00 per person, even though we only got to keep it for four hours, it felt great! Frank Sinatra, Jr. is a very humble and serious person and a tribute to his father who enjoyed his brisket of beef with potato pancake and red cabbage immensely."
